No Sam Posey
Check out this link

Sam is not mentioned. Does anyone know what happened? Is Sam to
sick to do it anymore? I really like his opening monologue for each
F1 race. I'll miss him.

Sam has Parkinson's. They didn't show in the broadcast but he shakes
fairly badly. I thought he did a great job. He and Hobbs were great togeather.

Yes indeed. I loved the commentary provided by David Hobbs, Sam Posey and Bob Varsha (and technical stuff by Steve Matchett). They really made the F1 "package" complete. And I am also going to miss Sam Posey's monologue during all of the races...he really did a great job setting the stage for the race and psyching everyone up.
Now they have some schmoe David Trubsdfjlksf? (forgot the name)....he's constantly stumbling over Steve Matchett and David Hobbes. (kind of like the Jason Priestley debacle).

I miss Sam already. The new guy talks too damn much!!! Why didn't Bob Varsha get the nod for this slot? They need to understand that we want to hear the cars talk and see the in-car camera shots. PLEASE JUST SHUT UP at the start of the race!

I agree about Sam, it is a shame. One of the coolest deals was the little jibes between Sam and Hobbs, who were incredibly intense rivals in F5000 in the early 70's.
I am not sure what "schmoe" David someone you are referring to, the anchor guy is Rick DeBruhl who is OK with me.....you cannot possibly be referring to Peter Windsor who is one of the most knowledgable and insightful people on F1 in the world.
Varsha is off to do the CART commentary this year on Speed. His parner is Tommy Kendall who is doubtlessly the most irreverent, opinionated and entertaining expert commentators in any form of racing at the moment.

Thank God. Sam Posey was an A$$.
Forever I will remember his totally stupid and insensitive remarks after Bobby Rahal won the Indy 500 and Posey says that it was wonderful because Jim Trueman(his team owner dying of cancer) probably would not be around to see another one.
The guy just did not know when to shut up.

"Thank God. Sam Posey was an A$$".
Thank God someone is suffering from Parkinson's??? That is a positively disgusting thing to say. And I think actually it was pretty great Jim Trueman could be around to enjoy that Indy win. He was quite ill at the time and did pass on very soon thereafter. His failing health was quite evident as he rode around with Rahal in the pace car after the race. I doubt if Sam pointed it out at the time with the same venom and lack of class of your statement above.
