I wonder if those guys would be intentionally crashing into each other as often as they do if they were driving open-wheel cars. Somehow I doubt it.

I've seen people in other series stand at the side of the track and gesture, but to throw their helmet?

Also, if these guys were racing their own cars bought out of their own pockets, I don't think we would see nearly so many "bumping" incidents either.
