Alonso summoned by Monza stewards

By Jonathan Noble Saturday, September 9th 2006, 14:31 GMT

World champion Fernando Alonso has been summoned by the Italian Grand Prix stewards after Ferrari Felipe Massa said the Spaniard had blocked him during qualifying.

Alonso, 12 points ahead of Massa's teammate Michael Schumacher in the championship, qualified in fifth position after a difficult session in which he was hit by a puncture.

The Spanish world champion will meet with the stewards after the GP2 race.

Alonso, however, believes Massa had no reason to complain.

"There is nothing to say. I think we need to wait until after the GP2 race to see," said Alonso. "Massa complained about me blocking his lap. I did my out lap to the maximum but I didn't block anyone.

"He was 300 to 400 metres behind me so he got a better tow off me. There should be no complaint."

MS and Ferrari sending their well trained chihuahua to do the dirty work.

I think FM had more of an advantage than disadvantage from being behind Alonso.

The three Monza stewards who signed the order...
Tony Scott Andrews, Enzo Spano and Alessandro Tibiletti

Just curious, are Tony, Enzo, and Alessandro Italian names.........?

F1 is not a sport. It's a business.

and thats how f1 business is done at ferraris home track.
if you exspect ms to retire, then it has to be as an 8 time drivers world champion.
why do you think massa has said he'll do what it takes to help ms win that title. maybe he wants to drive along side kimi next season not michael.

In a way I'm glad - further blemishes MS's reputation just before his retirement. Shamelessly obvious.

Here's the video onboard Alonso. The dot inthe distance is FA.

Can't spell ferrari or fiat without f.i.a. Alonso will still be WDC.

So is Alonso going to be starting in 10th? Or will he be in 5th? The information on the formula1.com page is a little confusing.

Good News!!!

JB starts 5th!!!!!! Honda Racing F1 Wins at Monza

Tony MIGHT be an Italian name, BUT Andrews is ANYTHING but Italian.. so 2 fia jackoffs were Italian

Yes Unibrow starts 10th

Ibve been sayiong for 15 years MS is a piece od Crap.. funny thing I get bashed for it.
My problem is I have the Feuher as much as I hate the Unibrow, so either way one worthless piece of crap is 06 WC

Look for FA to go banzai into the tighest 1st corner on earth and ruin his chance at being WC.. also remember RD wants more than anything to have a 2 time WC coming to his team, therefore KR will do EVERYTHING to keep the fat chin behind him

who really cares

JB and the Honda Racing F1 Team will win at Monza!!!!!

I want to see what Evidence the officials used to come to this crazy decision! This and the Parking incident is a little too much for this season.

About a 100 yard gap between drivers further evidence that F1 goes the direction of NASCAR. All they need now is the phantom yellow flag "for debris" to tighten up the pack. Pretty sad.
