I'm guessing that a front engined NASCAR puts out more heat than a rear-engined F1 car into the cockpit. I'd also guess that 9-10K rpm in front of you, might be the same decibel level as 20K rpm behind you.

Daytona in July isn't hot? Indy in August isn't hot? Sonoma isn't hot? Driving 600 miles isn't hard compared to 161 at Monaco?
Given the proximity of a screaming F1 engine to its occupant vs. the pushrod v8 of a typical Nascar, I would presume the F1 car has a bit more heat.

Also in terms of noise, my guess would be a shrill 20k rpm blasting behind your ears is much more intense than the NASCAR's 9k (s2000 territory...heheh).

Daytona vs. Malaysia for heat? Malaysia
Indy vs. Bahrain for heat? Bahrain

Finally, driving 600 miles in an oval is exhausting... I'm sure. However, racing at 10/10ths around the narrow streets of Monaco putting maximum g loads on the driver in every direction would surely make your muscles jelly and your brain, mush.

Not likely. There are about five times as many NASCAR drivers (just at the top level) as F1 drivers. The average fitness level is probably higher in F1, but I would bet the extremes either way are in NASCAR due to the larger sample size.

Blah blah NASCAR sucks etc., but notice that when top open wheel guys get into NASCAR they usually don't have great success. Whatever you may have convinced yourself of, it's not easier. Different, yes. But not easier.

agree both are different, so each require their own set of skills/fitness the drivers need to obtain.

Montoya said he could not do more than 5 laps during his first F1 test . He could not hold his head up despite coming from a jr series and weight trained for 6 months.

I ran into Tony Stweart in Az at the car auctions. Damn what a fat ass.

These tests are not a real indicator as the motors are set to reduced power and revs to keep some Cleatus from blowing them up.

So? He can win in pretty much anything, NASCAR, Indy, dirt track etc-hell, throw him into ANY type of racing, he can be a contender.

A 'driver' can be at the top of any form of racing, as long as he/she has the skills. The problem I have with F1 drivers is that all they do is drive F1. When was the last time you saw a current F1 driver, race in something that was alien to them? Did Prost/Senna/Schumacher ever contend in a non-open wheel race? Senna race in the Dakar Rally? Prost ever compete at Daytona (either the 500 or the 24hrs)? Schumacher ever do a short track modified race? And if anybody thinks that driving a 800hb modified dirt track race car is easy--I dare you to try it. A helluva lot more car control is involved with that than what you think.
