He better start working out.

Since his career has been basically driving the NASCRAP taxicabs, he's probably not ready for the physical demands of a F1 car.

I think you would get more of a workout driving a nascar vs f1 car just for the simple fact that it gets to be 150+ inside the car where I cant believe it gets that hot in a f1 car. NASCAR drivers have been known to lose 20lbs during a race. The races arent as long in F1 nor do they have as many.

my 2 cents

That's because they start off 100lbs overweight! F1 drivers are already at their peak of physical conditioning that they may lose a few lbs of water weight they consumed the night and hours before the race.

I guarantee you the cockpit of an F1 car is MUCH more hostile than anything in NASCAR. In F1 they have higher heat (think Malaysia and Bahrain sweltering above 110), awkward seating position, insane G-force, 20krpm engine noise. NASCAR cockpits are barkaloungers in comparison.

I'm guessing that a front engined NASCAR puts out more heat than a rear-engined F1 car into the cockpit. I'd also guess that 9-10K rpm in front of you, might be the same decibel level as 20K rpm behind you.

Daytona in July isn't hot? Indy in August isn't hot? Sonoma isn't hot? Driving 600 miles isn't hard compared to 161 at Monaco?

Its apples to oranges in comparison, in my opinion. Different forms of fitness for each due to the completely different racing situations the F1 and NASCAR drivers face.

But I am will to bet the fittest F1 driver is more fit than the fittest NASCAR driver.

Driving 500 miles is probably tough, but Nascar drivers aren't pulling 4g's during braking and cornering like F1 drivers are lap after lap.

Montoya has driven and won in both series. I take his word for it that F1 is tougher.
