Formula 1 Championship Edition for PS3 anyone?
Since we've got a lot of F1 fans in the house I wanted to see if anyone picked up the new F1 game for the PS3 yesterday (shipped on the 28th I think).
While the graphics are a tad lack-luster next to the ones in the Gran Tourismo HD demo (this game also only runs at 720p), I do have to give them credit for simulating so many facets of Gran Prix. From fuel strategy, accurate qualifying process, testing and tuning, controlable pit stops etc..., the game really does have a lot of cool stuff in it.
I got the last copy at the store and played (as JB of course ) through one short gran prix (actual race was only 10% of the real thing). Even at that I was up till 1 AM once i was done with tuning, practice and qualifying!
Going to do a longer race probably this evening.
There is internet play as well (up to 11 in a race I think). Maybe we should get a virtual season going??

if i had a PS3 i'd definitely get that game. I've always wanted to get one of the older F1 games for PS2, but I can't spend $60 on ebay for a 6 year old game at this point.

Yeah really the driving force behind me getting a PS3 was the F1 game, GT HD (or whatever the final name turns out to be) and a few others.
If anyone does get it, hit me up and we should set up a S2Ki Championship!

I used the Trial version of this a couple of months ago. I was really impressed and now the full version hasnt disappointed. There are vintage F1 cars available once you achieve certain objectives. My only comment is I wish they would provide on-line updates to bring it up to 2007. Villeneuve and Montoya are still in this game!!

Yeah online updates would be cool, then again I knew it was the 2006 season going in so I wasn't dissapointed.
I do like the amount of time they've dedicated to making the races seem plausable (if you watch the other drivers' rankings they seem to be plausable for the most part from what I've seen).
