If Cadillac had said from the beginning they would build an engine I believe Andretti's bid would've been taken more serious. Cadillac was only ever supporting as sponsor (money) for Andretti as he didn't have the fees covered himself. I know cadillac have said more recently they'd build an engine but I think the ship has sailed on that, plus Michael's attitude is crap and put a lot of teams off.

Also, F1 has an American team in Haas. Andretti would be no different than them, their facility is in Silverstone, not the US.

Otmar is trying to bring another team in as well, I'd guess he's learned from Andretti the wrong way to go about it and may be more successful.

Can't say I'm shocked they've pulled him but surprised by the replacement, I hadn't heard of him before.
