F1 Silly Season & Discussion Thread

Both Ron Dennis and Honda haven't confirmed anything yet and it has been rumored that FA has been saying it wouldn't bother him to take some time off.
On another note....

Updated the title to Silly Season 2015 discussion and while we are being silly, here is one more possibility
Lewis Hamilton is said to have signed at McLaren for 2015
Apparently, Button has been approached by Porsche about racing in the WEC.

Clearly SV got the upper hand and locked in a deal, seemingly right under FA's nose, and it's important to note SV manages himself, which actually I think sort of makes it an even bigger deal... where was FA's handler, and is FA really going to take some time off, or has to take time off without a seat? Also of note he's been so busy he missed some kind of registration thing and he's not doing his big cycle thing in '15 as I understand it
The irony to me is, SV may be the better negotiator, but I'll bet FA's driving skills over SV any day of the week!!!
I'v not been impressed with SV's not being able to get it on with the car, clearly DR has shown he can drive the car way better, and here is where FA comes in, he could lap SV if he was driving the Red Bull, meaning he has the ability to get 11/10's out of the car like AS (Senna) did, SV does not have this talent as I see it now

Another thought. There is a chance that three of the current teams may drop off the grid for next season. If that does happen, then there is supposed to be an agreement between CVC (Bernie) and the big teams that they will field three cars. Could Ferrari (although neither they nor Vettel have confirmed) be hedging bets by supposedly signing Vettel? If three cars becomes a possibility then Ferrari will have the sheer numbers (Alonso, Vettel & Raikkonen) to mount a strong championship bid.
Eric Boullier has ruled out three cars as a possibility for McLaren, saying a few weeks ago that it is already too late to field a third car.I think the agreement is for Ferrari, McLaren and Williams Eight remaining teams have to field three cars each if three teams leave the sport. Something else to ponder about as this silly season unravels.

Oh, and let me say, I'm thrilled DK got the Red Bull seat!!!
And for the record I'm a HUGE fan of our new little boy MV (Verstappen) and I'm so looking forward to Toro Rosso's season
So, who will be MV's teammate if DK has moved off to Red BUll?

Three car teams means Bernie does not know how to run F1
It's a stupid idea in my book, it sits on the shelf right next to a double points race as the last race of the season...

Lotus switching to Mercedes power next season as McLaren will be Honda powered.

This may make it a lucrative team for a driver seeking the Mercedes engine. Will this also have some impact on silly season
