F1 qualifying
I've been watching this on Speed Channel. The cars are going so fast, it looks like sped-up motion photography.
WOW these guys are fast!!!

Magny Cours is an amazing track!
Whay a great race. I'm so glad Kimi replaced an engine and had to start back in 13th, because if he had started from 3rd I suspect he would have won; instead my boy Fernando just moves up in the points even more.
And I have to confess, even as a Ferrari fan, I'm really concerned. The next car for the Renault to lap was Michael.

Watching the cars through nurburgring is amazing. I also love to see them snap left at Grande Courbe.
I like to 'drive' the tracks in my F1C on the PC pre race just to get a good feel for them when watching the sometimes rather staccato coverage. Driving into Grande is wild.
Gotta admit that I'm a Kimi fan and I also liked Mika before him. I kind of like their almost emotionless approach. Alonso with the fingers - not a real fan of that; being pumped over a win is cool, but that just seems like flaunting things.
Yip another 3 laps or so and MS was toast! I was watching on live track, and MS picked his pace up just a little, but he was still going to fall prey to Alonso.
...anyone notice the flag mixup? I was sitting their thinking that something was wrong when Hobbs confirmed (though I think he called Kimi Swedish).

Well bud, I'm the opposite, I never liked Mika and I'm no fan of Mercedes!
If I won 5 races in a season I would take every advantage I could get to get publicity for my sponsors, including the 5 fingers for the 5 wins.
And yes, as a diehard Tifosi' I clearly noticed the wrong flag over Michael's head...

I wouldn't - sponsors can get publicity without my sicking up my fingers. That's really publicizing oneself, but that's popular now anyway *shrug*. Alonso holding and pointing to his Michellin cap during the cerimony was a cool props to Michellin. But hey, what do i know, I didn't think anything of it when Michael Jordan held up six fingers after his sixth championship.
Now as a BMW driver, you'd think I'd root for the Williams BMW, but I don't. Other than Ferrari in F1 and Porsche in GT's, I don't generally root for or against cars but rather for specific drivers. Keeps things interesting when my team is out of it. I rooted for Ferrari against the Mclaren Mercedes while we struggled to finally beat them, but always liked and respected Mika. And I was and remain a HUGE fan of DC.
