And rookie Robert Kubica did a way better job in his 1st race than JV did in his entire season...

Crying shame Kubica lost his point due to an underwight car.

I don't really agree that he did way better than JV- about the same really. I do look forward to watching Kubica in the future as I think he has the stuff to do well in F1.

Whatever...

Starting grid positions

JV's results
Grand Prix of Bahrain
11. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Malaysia
10. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Australia
19. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of San Marino
12.J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Europe
9. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Spain
22. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Monaco
14. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Great Britain
10. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Canada
11. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of USA
6. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of France
16. J. Villeneuve
Grand Prix of Germany
13. J. Villeneuve

RK's results
Grand Prix of Hungary
9. R. Kubica

Averaging JV's grid positions out give him a 12.75. In RK's very 1st qualifying event ever he pulls down a 9th. Of the 12 races JV qualified for this year he got into the top 10 only 4 times, RK did it on his very first attempt. To me that is not at all "about the same".

2 second penalty to MS and FA who would have been in front and JB getting dropped to 14 because of penalty puts Robert right back at 12. Either way he out qualified Nick.

I like the kid and I am excited at his prospects. Really, I think he will do well and he has been fast out of the box at pretty much every track this year, including ones he hasn't been on before. That more than anything has impressed me about him.

Even if he is just equaling JV that isn't bad for a first time around (not meaning the spins he had).

Don't get me wrong, I think this kid is showing great promise and I'm thrilled to have him in the sport with a real race seat. However, if you think I'm going to sit here and type out any compliments for JV you are sadly mistaken. I thought it was strange BMW even picked him up for '06, so it does not surprise me they let him go part way through the season.

I think we've seen the last of Villeneuve at least in F1. Hes probably in talks with a NASCAR team. Maybe he can team up with JPM.
