VERY happy to see TK win. I can't think of a classier guy in racing. I became a fan when I heard about his work ethic when Patric and Andretti were his team mates. I think just about everyone became a fan after Marco's bone headed 2008 crash that took out Kanaan who then collected Sarah Fisher. I know Fisher has been given a lot o grief over the years because she isn't the best driving talent. However, her work ethic is beyond reproach. I mean Roger Penskee respects her efforts. In 2008 she was struggling to get into the race. She barely got things together and bad luck... well almost bad luck... took her out. After the crash they interviewed TK. Rather than the usual thanking of his crew and the like he talked about how bad he felt for Sarah to have put that much effort into the race only to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. TK made an interview about a front runner into a story about someone else. That is real class. Incidentally I think it helped both drivers. TK became an instant fan favorite while Sarah's efforts came to the attention of the Dollar General CEO who offered her sponsorship after the crash.

Way to go Tony!

Here is the crash from 2008. TK's interview about 3:20 in.

The fans were really pulling for TK at the end. Helio is my man, but he just quite have enough.

You picked him well. In the sense that, I read the article and was thinking how he had always been the bridesmaid, and it happened for him

Fourteen drivers led at least one lap, besting the previous high of 12 during the 1993 race. The more astonishing record to be broken was the number of lead changes that took place during the 2-hour, 40-minute race. Sixty-eight times the lead changed hands, shattering the 2012’s race record of 34.

“Nobody really wanted to lead,” said Michael Andretti, owner of the cars that finished second, third and fourth. “If you were out front, you were towing the other guys around and using more fuel.”

Ya basically. Lead car just punches a hole through the air for everyone else to follow
