What total bullshit! I thought we were past that in racing. We once had dinner in Del Mar in the late 1980s with Willy T. Ribbs the Saturday night before the IMSA sports car race. What total bullshit! I thought we were past that in racing. We once had dinner in Del Mar in the late 1980s with Willy T. Ribbs the Saturday before the IMSA sports car race. He told us some horrific stories about racist stuff in racing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willy_T._RibbsThat's cool you got to have dinner with him. His episode on the F1:Beyond the Grid podcast was a great listen, highly recommend it. He talks about what he experienced and how him and Lewis got in touch.

It's a shame that there are still many with this backwards thinking. Social media is littered with toxic accounts specifically to do this too.

I too got to spend over an hour with Willy at a wine bar in San Jose years ago; he was there visiting family and checking on business. Didn't know him from Adam at the time, and was incredibly generous with his time and his story.
