Why is it so hard to find black??
Looking at the trading post and carsales and carpoint, there either seems to be no black .... or they are really really unfairly priced??
Why is this, is black a harder color to aquire??
I would really like a black s2000 with red leather ... but am having quiet a few difficaulties finding it....
I proberbly have to consider silver soon if black doesnt come through, even though the mugen ss2000 looks awsome in silver

One of the main reason I think that people don't order Black as a color is because it is harder to keep clean. Streaks and road dirt shows up easier than with cars with any other lighter color.
Black does look very mean and sleek, however is harder to see at night. Generally the automotive industry likes to show their new designs in Silver because Silver highlights all the contour and feature lines the best.
I've known people to swear off Black as a colour once owning it because it does absorb more heat and the cleaning issue. We don't have that issue because it being a convertible and I'm sure we always keep our cars spotless.
I myself got Formula Red. It feels faster in my mind.

It is true that black is harder to keep clean but I offer the following reasons why you cant find any to buy:
1) More silvers were sold
2) Black/red looks so good that the owners are happy and do not want to sell them, or they find buyers more easily.
3) Just a minor fluctuation - after all how many are currently for sale - perhaps 8. Nexr month they might be mostly back and no silver.
The rarest colors seem to be blue and yellow and especially white.

I had been looking for a second hand white for a few months before I settled with a black. It is rare to see white on the street let alone finding one on the market.
It is my first black car and i reckon I need to spend 3x as much effort to keep it in 'reasonable' presentation. The main problem I have is to find a way to minimise those spider web like fine scratches. I find it extremely easy to introduce more scratches during car wash, even with a brand new clean sponge. I have just bought one of those wool mitt form Meguairs and will try them next time.
If you are a perfectionist with the appearance of your car, I suggest stay away from black unless you have the time to wash/ wax / polish your car every 2-3 weeks.

I'm now sold on the black after having one for 3 years
It really works with the S2000 because it ties the duco in with the interior - ie: looks like the older cars where the exterior colour used to follow on to the dash.
IMHO - not as nice a transition with a silver S2k as you have Silver duco - Black dash/doors - Red interior.
