1) Yes. Being a convertible was to a degree a handicap when shopping for a car. Covertibles are usualy inferior handlers to coupes. Though, S2000 is super-stiff and I have no complaints about the structural integrity and love the convertible aspect of it.

1) Yes, but... I'll probably keep it after the lease is up, but if was fixed roof I probably would have moved on to something else (but what?- nothing at the moment appeals)
Oh, I still have the hardtop when the mood strikes...
2) 1/9/99 - the dealer "lost it in transit" for a couple of days...
- though Turkey wasn't 26/8/99 before the official release date?

Bill, I saw my first S2000 on the road on Monday 23/8 and immediately called up Honda who said "yes, they were released today". I then spent Tuesday 24/8 tracking down a vehicle at a dealer, spent Wednesday arranging my leasing and Thursday night I picked it up

No, it's not my kart, it belongs to the series organiser and you rent it for the day.
And it's not that awesome either. Those motors are Honda 6.5hp jobs commonly used for pumps and other agrarian machines. No VTEC .
They have a centrifugal clutch and drive a rigid axle. They take off pretty slow with heaps of slip but once you get it up to speed it's pretty exciting. On the back straight at Kembla Grange I think we were doing around 80-90 Kph.
Heaps of fun. Especially in a team of 8 doing a 12 hour endurance race.

1)No way!!! If it's a coupe I would buy the Nissan 200SX and spend the $40k difference to make a sub 10 sec "super boost" rear wheel drive monster

hlau, I drive the S everywhere including work. Everyone around work seems to know my car and how well I follow the speed limit
AusS2000, how is this for the cart equivalent with full on Honda badge?
HA, did Honda think of this ?

Back on topic... Why did I buy my S? It's a relatively exclusive good looking well performing convertible sports car that is..
a) a departure from the norm and
b) more fun to drive than anything else I've driven to date.
I think IT people have this thing about technology
