who in syd wants to install this for me?
Guys im deciding to install a double din unit into my car.
the kenwood unit i have chose to have thrown in.
i know i need a DCI and JDM bzel to run it but if i cant source one within 1 week ill go on without it for abit.
this is the unit
and i just want it installed like the jdm one
just a few questions:
*can i install it without the bezel?
*can i use a standard double din bezel for it?
*how long would it take to have it installed?
*can i use the piece of dash cut out as alid for the screen once installed?
for those who are interested in the install just let me know if these can be done and how much your looking for either in a PM or reply in thread.
im happy to head down next saturday to you (unless i get lost or its heaps far).
thanks all

Can someone post that pic of mr 2000 in the F&F crew again? That was hilarious.
Back on topic, why don't you get it professionally installed? It isn't your standard replacement job where a case of beer goes to the S2000 owner with the most time on their hands. I think replicah has a similar setup. You might want to ask what he did.

I helped Aus out with his JDM bezel adventure, well I say "helped", I kinda just stood there with a video camera going ... oooh ... arrggh ... oops! .. and laughing a lot!!
Here is the lowdown on this as I saw it:
1. You WILL need the JDB bezel or you will need to make something similar - the area of the dash you cut into is not flat so you need a bezel.
2. The dash is plastic covered in a thin layer of foam and then covered in vinyl, there is no way you can cut this neatly, so you will need a bezel.
3. Apart from the bezel you will need the bracket that screws on to the inside of the dash to actually hold your screen, or you could make one with some trial and error. There is nothing behind the dash to mount to otherwise.
4. This is NOT a Saturday afternoon job! It is going to take many hours for a non-specialist to get this right, even with a rough template like Aus had.
So my advice is keep looking for a specialist who will do it for you, I thought someone on here had found a specialist dash cutter who did the job for them? That probably didn't include mounting the screen though.
Alternatively, be prepared to drive around for a few weeks with an ugly great hole cut in your dash, maybe even a partial hole for a while, while you do the job yourself.
Oh, and make sure you know where to get hold of a used dash from a breakers before you start!!
Good luck! It does look good when it is in.
