Where? (sorry, just me being a grammar nazi).

How did you do it?

I recently launched off the lights, wheel hopped and broke an axle. But I still haven't broken a diff and I'm up around 500hp.

BTW, I'd say you're up for $1000-1800 dollars.

S2000 diffs aren't easy to come by. You disassemble and if it's just your ring an pinion you can buy Kia or Mazda ones for about $600 and have a diff specialist fit them. That's the $1000 option.

Otherwise, look around for a secondhand diff. Could go as high as $1800.

Did you take your car to Hanny's today? There was a GPW AP1 there with a blown diff. Pete had the old diff out and new in about <1 hour.

The one put on was a conditioned second hand diff but don't know how much it was. I believe he got it from Honbits for the customer.

I feel you pain man, i blew my diff thanks to my extremely agressive downgearing (or so I'm told)!!! I blew my second one because i bought a second hand one and the repairer screwed it up something shocking... i bought a full second hand differential from a member here with a CUSCO 1.5 way centre and higher gear ratios, I blew that one too, reason is unknown.

This time around I decided I wanted everything brand new. I think that its worth spending the extra cash because it aint easy pulling the diff in and out not to mention a pain in the ass to have the car off the road. Ther is a shitload of good lsd centres on the market for a range of budgets. With the stronger aussie dollar, I would even look at getting one shipped from the US or something of the sort

Wow, didn't realise you blew the one with the cusco too :S You don't think maybe you're pushing it too hard?

Back OT, I bought a complete diff with a Ricks 4.56 final drive and a new set of rubber mounts for $1300 from a member here, no problems thus far.

Didn't blow my orig BTW, just wanted to upgrade, I don't know how you guys blow them so easily. Are you guys doing 7000RPM clutch drops?

Your 19's with a combo of giving the diff a hard time seems more than likely your problem. The white one I saw @ hanny's also had some bling huge 19's on there. The rolling diameter is hugely increased and I bet your 19's weight somewhat 3X+ the weight of OEM. That is definately casuing strain on the diff.

I don't get it. I have 18s with 265 tyres at the rear and a turbocharged engine and I'm still on the original diff. Broke an axle though.
