VAFC Issues

chuckie, if you have not taken your car back to the tuner I suggest that you should null all your current settings and bring it back to them asap. I doubt that tuning the fuel map with 1 sensor does anything. Therefore the current setting is incorrect for your car. I am not surprise if it's too lean atm. Whoever set your sensor to 01 should pay for the $$$damage

Might be interesting to find out what the difference is between 01 01 and 06 06.
I don't even know why the V-AFC has sensor types. All Hondas are 06 06 and only Honda has VTEC.
I guess you could use it on other cars and use the VTEC engagement feature for something else but you'd expect the Honda sensor type to be the default.
At this point I suspect the only damage was to CHUCKIE's wallet for multiple tuning sessions.

I just read some interesting instructions for the VAFC that said to initialise it after making changes. This might be incorrect (I believe it is) but please check that the Sensor type is still 06 06.

Anyone else out there running the VAFC can tell me if their sensor is set on 06 06?
Are you guys saying it is unlikely to be the prob?
I saw your "sleeper" AusS2000 on my way to Balmoral on Sat. Begging for some more "kills"!!

They will be. I've checked a few places and it seems the only thing you ever have it set to is 06 06. What I'm interested in is what the other settings are for.
I suspect the V-AFC is sort of a customised S-AFC. The S-AFC probably needs the different settings for different cars, but when they did the custom work for VTEC Hondas they left the parameter in even though it is only ever set to 06 06.

mine was 06 06
What would be interesting is to go back to your tuners and ask them to dig out your old dyno runs. It's very easy to do this...if they say that they can't it's most likely to be a BS. Check if there is any difference between the first and final dyno tune. If the final run is the same as the first or you loose power you should ask for your money back or get a retune.
tuning with 01 01 will not do anything except engaging into vtec 4k rpm later than your vtec on setting. I think this happened to me once. However you can't go into vtec at all .......fairly interesting
Keep us posted about the dyno printouts.
While you are there try to get them to print a AF graph with the power run as well.
