Default tuning AEM or vafc2

hey guys ive been wandering wether tuning my aem for 650 or tuning my vafc2 for only 200.

reason being is i only have i/h/e i think that its abit of over kill to tune my car with aem and more costly but which is a better way to go tuning vafc2 or the aem?

All you can do with a VAFC is change VTEC engagement and trick the ECU by telling it you are getting more or less air (modify the MAP sensor signal). There is no direct control of injectors and no control of timing whatsoever. It's a pretty blunt tool.

well what do you think aus i have a mate who tuned his car and got 135 or 130.5kw not to sure with the vafc2 they say its abit of over kill tuning with aem because its more costly but if im going to track the car its better for it.

The V-AFC is a toy and the AEM is overkill.

Not to insult you but I/H/E is not much in terms of mods. I wouldn't bother with either.

135

But you can't compare like that.

You have to dyno stock and in known conditions. Then mod and dyno in the same conditions.

If it's only $450 I would use the aem.
It has more features than a VAFC and will allow you to customise to your car mods. It has features like dual map/nitrous map so that you can run stock fuel on one map and E85 with the nitrous map.

The aem is a very good ecu for the s2k.
Leave the VAFC for the honda civic lol
