Track day at Eastern Creek Nov 22nd
Anyone going?
I am 80% sure I'll go and have a friend with a Porsche (don't know what kind of Porsche it is but I know it is a older one) that may go too.

Well, today was an interesting day. Managed to improve my time but rain in the afternoon wasn't helpful.
Unlike previous track days I have been to we actually walked the track this time. The organizers explained every corner and there were witches hats for apexii and turning points as well as two "gates" to make sure you were on the correct line for turn 1 and the hairpin at corporate hill. We also got two different instructors to ride along (two different sessions) to give you initial advise and then to make sure you adjusted to driving to the damp track.
I improved on my best time to 2:13.22. It is only one tenth faster than before but my lines were way better and the laps were smoother. I played around with the tire pressures on the second and third sessions only to put too much pressure and loose 3 seconds per lap ( car was very unsettled). Then when I finally got the pressures right again it rained so that was it for lap times.
The best thing about the whole day was seeing how very consistent I was. Regardless of what time I was making I was lapping within 1 or 2 tenths each session: 2:13 with proper pressure, 2:16 with too much pressure, 2:14 with almost the right pressure and 2:18.5 with a damp track.
The sad note was the WRX that went into the pit wall on turn 1. The guy didn't brake until he was already turning so as soon as he touched the brakes the car went sideways and face first against the wall on the pit exit...
I took some stopwatch times:
1. MR2 2:11.xxx
2. 94 MX-5 2:12.xxx
3. XR6 2:11.xxx
4. Forrester 2:19.xxx
5. Maloo 2:05.xxx
6. Z4 2:06.xxx
