Default Temperamental Battery

I know this has been talked about before but I just want to emphasis how temperamental the stock battery can be (or how quickly QuikTraK can drain it). My car is just 1.25 years old but doesn

It might be 1 volt under no load but it could be the difference between 7~8V and 0V when the starter's engaged. The amount of current the battery can supply drops dramatically as its open circuit voltage falls.

If you have a QuikTrak and don't drive the car a lot you'll save a lot of aggro if you get yourself an Odyssey battery. Normal lead acid batteries die in a hurry (and permanently) if they ever get heavily discharged. They are not designed for deep cycling.

Or an in roof charging system. I'm in a similar situation to CostaK and if you think having to jump the battery every now and then is a problem wait till you go on holidays for a week and get a call from Quiktrak saying not only is you battery flat, but the alarn is going off to say 'low battery' and hence draining it further. And no, they can't disable it but your neighbours probably will with a baseball bat.

which odyssey battery did you get naishou? Did you have to make any modification or did it fit straight in?

I need to get some dry battery. Last time I checked under the bonnet there were a lot of acid leak from the honda oem battery and I dont drive my car that hard

Er, I didn't. I have one in my racing car. Because they are smaller you'd need to arrange some slight modification to hold it in place but the terminals should be compatible.

Honda do offer a heavy duty battery suitable for the S2000. I had one put in on my first battery replacement (which BTW lasted me well over 3 years).
