Under certain circumstances there's some valid economic benefits to be had by paying someone else to do certain jobs so I can understand cayenneguy's POV. A lot of small business owners in particular might find themselves working 6 or even 7 days a week so pay others to do the 'housekeeping'.

An example would be paying somebody $15 once a fortnight to mow your lawn. Work it out against the cost of a lawnmower, fuel, maintenance and disposal of the clippings and you're set for a few hassle-free years.

I think one could take the concept too far though. Paying to have a dog walked for example is absurd (IMO).

Personally, I enjoy washing my own car and if I had a lawn to mow I'd enjoy that too... for a little while... until the novelty wore off.

Washing your car, chatting to the neighbour over the fence, a spot of gardening with the beloved .... yep it's a good life.... until you end up hating your neighbour because his bloody dog won't stop barking it's fool head off.

Actually, I'm thinking of taking up rapelling so I can drop in on my neighbours. If I'm lucky I might catch one of them doing illegal things with a hose.

I did a double take on that until I realised this was originally a thread about the water restrictions.

I enjoy mowing my own lawn, although if you parked out front of my place at the moment you'd think I hadn't had much enjoyment recently.

I can just picture Muz in mountain climbing tackle and his heighbour with a stout length of rubber hose. A match made in heaven (or slightly south of there).

A silly idea came to mind. Next drive day, get 20 people to come and we all go to one person's place and one of us stand there using a hose to blast the crap off each car in turn. At most we'll get a fine of 200 bucks and each person just chip in 10 bucks and we'll all be happy.

You mentioned 35, turkey said he has packed a few more on and we know he has school aged kids so I'm assuming 40-50, and I thought I remembered in one of your threads mention of being 50.
ok, were u mentioning in the last part that i was nearing 50 or turkey was nearing 50, coz i'm nowhere near 50 and a few years off 30 still.
