Default Smart Cop

I was walking the streets of Sydney the other night when I saw this down at the Harbour St Plice Station:

Ok, so it's a sh!t house picture but I'm sure youcan all make out that it is a Smart Roadster Police Car. Aren't cop cars supposed to be either fast (for chasing the bad guys) or roomy (for taking them back to the clink)?

A) It was taken with my phone at night
B) I'd had too many Sapporo at a Teppanyaki restaurant so everything looked blurred.

'walking' the streets...'police station'.... somehow I am getting suspicious as to how exactly is it that you make a living ...

I knew the cops had a few fortwos on trial for admin personnel. Didn't know about the roadsters... good to see!

How could you take a cop seriously if you got pulled over with that?
You'd just laugh and ask where the camera was hiding!

Yes I have seen that pass my work a couple of times.
The only thing funnier than seeing police markings on a smart car, is seeing two fat cops all squished up inside driving around in it.

I remember reading a while ago about some car company/dealership that had essentially donated a car to the local police station for non-patrol use, for example going down to give a talk at the local pre-school.
Maybe this smart is used for similar duties.

My dog's vet is a 6'5" ex-rugby player. One of his employees was Chris Brown (one of the vets that has been on Harry's Practice). He's similar dimensions.

Their vet car is a Daihatsu Move.
