It is definitely a six speed Getrag box, not a five. Five sounds a bit odd
The R32 had a five speed box and I'm not sure of the R33 although I think that was the same box from the R32.
Even in basic form, the car is a beast.

Iggy has been kind enough to post the results. See other thread.
The Toyta Supra in class D did 1.49.70 whereas the Nissan was classified as a closed racing car in class I and managed 1.53.34
Game, set & match to the Toyota!

Could someone be kind enuff to explain the different type of skylines
Like the diff between the GT-I and GT-R (are there anymore?) in terms of performance
Also V-SPEC?
The reason I ask is because I see skylines being labeled differently all over.
tks much appreciated.

It's actually a good question, s2k2
The R32 never had a "V Spec". I first noticed them on the grey imported R33s and it has continued with the R34s.
Can anyone help?

R32 has VSPEC II, that is remade in year 2000 for ppl who thinks the R32 is a legend.
Types of GTR:
-GTR - 2.6L, DOHC twin turbo, 280PS, 4WD.
-GTR-VSPEC -same as above except it comes with front brake duct, stiffer suspension, and active LSD.
-GTR N1-this model in R34 broke a recond in nurburg-ring. Power rated at 280PS, but it has a lot more in there, it has a lil bit different in Aero package, really good standard suspension, 320kph speedo, and a basicly like a typeR edition of Skyline.
-GTR 400R-done up by Nismo, it is rated at 400PS, standard doing low 12 sec. Comes with NISMO aero, suspension, interior, wheels, exhaust and bla bla bla...limited edition.
