cant believe my luck on Friday .....

driving down to melb in a Corrolla ... on a downhill slope , i was flooring it to pass some cars , i didnt know it, but i was doing about 140/kms at the time , hidding behind some trees was a highway patrol car , i spot him but it was too late , he pointed for me to pull over , power turns it and is behind me parked on the shoulder of the freeway ...

comes up , ask for my license and breath test me . He asked why was i speeding ?
i told him i am usually a very responsible driver and i do not speed , i needed to speed up on this occassion to pass some slower cars . He asked how could i prove i am not a serial speeder ? i said , the only time i was done for speeding was back in 1999 for a 10/kms over and have not been speeding since.

he went back to his car and must of checked , came back and said , look i will give you benifit of the doubt and let you off this time !!! keep it on 110/kms ... and remeber its double points this weekend ! have a safe trip !!!

cant believe my f-ing luck !

i wonder if i was in the S2000 would i be so lucky

Back to the original poster, after 4 years wouldn't it have been a good idea to change your licence anyway. What with all the benefits of cheaper insurance and no hastle from the police. Also even if your here on sponsorship you are only entitles to drive on your uk licence for 12 months
Just a correction, on a sponsored visa (457) you can drive on a UK license for as long as you like, if/when you get residency then you have 3 months in which to get an Australian license.

I have owned my s2000 for just over 2yrs now. I have been on p's the whole time and only been pulled over once but it was for speeding. The cop was ok just said the car sounded loud and said i shouldnt be driving it on p's then let me of with a warning for not displaying rear p plate. I have never been pulled over randomly the only hassle i ever get is from falcodore owners who think ive got my parents car or something.

yep. I've had it a couple of times. Especially when I first got the car. Had some douche yell out "nice car that your mum bought for you". I just looked at him and shook my head.

I used to get when I first got the car. this was in a time when not every single P Plater in Victoria had one. I was like "does your dad drive an S2000? So what makes you think mine does?".
