Are you saying the RE55 is noisier than the RE540?
It's hard for me to say becuase I never actually owned RE540s while I do RE55s. So I can't really answer that ... I just know that with the RE55s I need the volume on the stereo cranked up 50% lounder just to be able to hear it when cruising on the freeway (ie. at 100kph).

reading this thread , i didnt realize how passionate some of you blokes are about your rubber ..... i too am serious about the rubber i wear .... found this brand called Ansell ... they got a new tread out called "ribbed" .... they can get a little noisy ..... but the screams are from the pleasure they provide ..... dirt cheap too !
$14 for a pack of 12 ! talk about value ! so stuff your bridgestones / pirelli's / goodyears / etc .... get the rubber that really counts !

I just ordered a set of re55 for the 18". The car is too dangerous with the current tyres
Vueyjr, there is this stuff called spay on skin. Should be a lot cheaper, more sensitive and more effective for some group therapy.
