Recommended dealers for service in Sydney
I am up to the 10000 service. I bought the car from Rick Damelian in Leichhardt. I live nearer to Hornsby Honda. Which of these, or any other service depts, do you recommend? Any to avoid?

I think they're all pretty much the same.
If you're an HSCC member you will get a 10% discount at Rick Damelian, but then you'll probably spend the discount on fuel getting there!
I haven't heard anything really bad about Hornsby Honda.

I am not a fan of Rick D (and the weekly top 40 )...dodgy sales people (not sure about their service department though)
I have used both Larke Hoskins (Rushcutters Bay ) and Scotts (St Leonards). Larke Hoskins was great..cheap, no frills and across the street from where I lived (near Sydney BMW).
Scotts is fantastic for service and no gripes about fixing things under warranty or following up on recalls etc. Exxie though as you end up paying for the "free coffee, lovely surrounds etc"....but can't fault service (for a car and customer.

I've been going to Rick Damelians but will probably try Scotts.
Reason being I live quite a way from Ricks so I have to rent one of their 'loan' cars to and from work ($50). I am also of the suspicion that even after the 10% discount I'm paying more than others for particular services.

Did you need a card from HSCC to get the discount? I paid my membership over two months ago but I dont have any proof yet.

Well, they did a shortblock replacement and I haven't had any issues with that so I guess they must be pretty good.
I don't believe I've ever flashed my car at them. Do you know your member number? That, and possibly Ron's mobile number should be more than enough.

I do oil changes myself. Time consuming and sometimes messy, but i don't trust people working on my car.
Probably no more than 30 bucks for oil + filter and it's just unbelievable the profit margins these guys make.

I'm like bloodwynch I don't like ppl working on my cars or leaving them with anyone other than family.
When the S2000 went in to have a new battery put in it came back with "barely" noticeable, but still noticeable to me surface scratches on the front quater panel where the service guy would've been leaning.. GRRR. Not happy with that.
I get the S serviced at Hornsby Honda. Great premises, very schmick and clean looking. Very big too. Everything appears to always be organised which is a plus. But that said, the car's only been in twice (once for it's first service) and the second time for the new battery.
