Could we arrange some track time during the week with this weekend cruise? I will see if I can get sometimes off for this.
That sounds like an AWESOME idea and great opportunity for one! in for that too

Sounds like great fun.
Are SA members invited or is this a private VIC cruise ?
If you ever come this way to Warrnamool you are always welcome. So you must be pretty close to Mount Gambier. I have an office there.

You are also welcome to this drive

Which track did you have in mind ? Does Calder still have open days?

pcs2k, don't panic. It will definitely be held. The only question is when.

Unlikely we'd do it in school holiday & tourist season. Normally, March would be a good time but this March there will be an overflow of tourists from the Commonwealth Games. So, the most likely times are later in April or else November.

There's been a lot of publicity here in Melbourne about the extra police presence this summer to enforce the newly created 80Km/hr zones.

I am not fuss Red.
Cruise, GO road drive, catch up with the vic crews and track time in any permutation will be great. I don't mind if this is combined with the Com games too.

Guys i juct got back from a cruise to Lorne staying at lorne for the night and coming back with a stop over at torque!!!!!

IT WAS THE BEST DRIVE I HAVE EVER DONE. I went up with my friend who owns and E46 M3. We were driving through dusk and hit the beginning twisties when it was dark.. He easily got ahead of me by a good 200 metres. I have never driven on that road before and i didnt want to thrash it as fast as he was going which was very very quick. However on the way back we were driving in daytime and the S managed to keep right behind him the whole way. I attribute this to being more confident on what to expect, daylight giving far better visability and road prediction, and the fact that I could see when the m3 was breaking and what line he was taking around the corners and i stayed to them... for the whole 45 min drive which we did in little over 20 mins if that, the s2k was in 6k revs or higher.. redlining all over the joint.. And it took it perfectly, no issues so far..

Unusually i checked the oil levels and they were very similar to before i left.

All in all a fantastic drive.. there were no cops and it was a very very spirited drive. My mate is a PCOTY driver from Motor Mag, So it was grand fun to see his different style of attacking corners and such. Not to mention the S2k right on his ass. hahaha.. Though he could have lost me if he wanted at any time...

Hotchoc, the GOR is a great drive (between Lorne and Apollo Bay is great) and I'm surprised you've never driven on it being a Melburnian and all. I'm a little confused as to how you followed your friend's "lines" however as there is only room for one car width (1.5 at best) in one lane, so you basically have to 'drive on rails' so to speak. Unless you were using both lanes
