Thumbs up Oil leaking from rear suspension

Hi Guys

Someone help please!!! I noticed a small amount of oil under the rear of my s2k the other
day so I took it down to the local garage and asked the mechanic to take a look. Luckily he told me its neither the diff or shocks leaking, but appeared to be coming from a rear mount just to the right of the rear shocker. Has anyone experienced this type of problem? Tried calling Honda to ascertain whether the mounts are oil filled, but they were unable to confirm?? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Christie

The "local garage" is probably not the right place to take an S2000. Did you ask him if he had seen an S2000 before? The fact that he couldn't quickly identify a leak doesn't inspire confidence.

The only previous similar problem I've heard of did turn out to be a leaking shock absorber. I suggest you take it to a Honda dealer and/or a reliable Honda specialist.

What part of Melbourne are you in?

+1 for a leaking shock. I had one replaced under warranty years ago.

Hey RedRover

Thats the first time I've actually gone to a garage in Williamstown. I've lost complete confidence in the Honda dealer who's maintained the vehicle for me over the last 7 years. I don't wish to name names here, but lets just say its located a short stroll from the CBD.

Can someone suggest a reputable dealer/specialist in the west (altona) or not to far from the CBD?

I thought it may have been the diff or shocks, that's why I took it straight down. I have replaced the shocks and springs with Koni adjustables and King springs. Would the shocks give way after approximately 15k's??

I don't know which mount he was refering too!! So a second opinion is definately needed!!!
