Hi geppetto, Welcome to Australia.
I've been to Vancouver several times and loved it. One of the great cities of the world! It must be wonderful to have an S2000 there. An endless supply of fabulous mountain roads, the like of which we just don't have in Australia.
Anyway, back on topic. This case is due to re-surface in court again sometime this month. If you want to follow it I suggest you keep an eye on theses two sites (below). It is sure to feature prominently!

In Canada, we had one history teacher that had a generation of his students believing that the holocaust was a jewish propaganda effort and that no jews were ever killed in Nazi death camps. For years, students from his classes left believing this view. After he was found out, former students came to his defence and even after seeing vast quantities of evidence to the contrary, they still believed what their teacher taught.
Definetely a case for 'manipulation of young minds'

Teacher pleads guilty to sex with student
17 August 2004
A Teacher pleaded guilty today to six counts of sexual penetration with a 15-year-old boy.
Karen Louise Ellis, 36, of Eltham North, was committed to the Victorian County Court for sentencing on six counts of having sex with a child under 16 under her care. The Melbourne Magistrates Court heard another seven charges were withdrawn.
Ellis, a mother of three, had a sexual relationship with the year 10 student while teaching at a suburban state school in October and November last year, the court heard.
She stopped working at the school in November when allegations of the relationship were raised and was charged by summons in May. Magistrate Dan Muling ordered Ellis face the County Court on November 4.
