Ahhh yes. I actually have a set of these from the last HTG group buy I did but have not got around to installing them.

IIRC they are harder material strikers for the hardtop and soft top and became standard issue on MY2002 models onwards. If I am right you could try a wrecker. But as I alluded to, they are not completely necessary.
Yeap I will try the spacer trick and left-right swap first.

RE: the malaysia comment, yeah I know. I read about his ordeal. I would personally go to the post office and choke those mothe.....nvm

I'm hoping I don't need shims..I hate messing around with these things.

Only reason I'm buying a hardtop is because i don't want to fix the tear in my soft top because that will take 10 hours to replace including buying a new top.

Ok, but when I get around to installing my glass window top I will have a plastic window one lying around doing nothing.

If anything I'd be upgrading to glass too, I hate standing outside the car whilst putting the roof down so help fold the plastic so it doesn't crinkle.

Everytime I drive the missus' boxster its so good just sitting inside and holding a button down, whilst driving off and low speed

Don't be distracted by my Malaysia comment. I was referring to Adrenalin buying a secondhand HT from a guy in Malaysia and the Malaysian contact stuffing up the shipping. Sounded like an absolute nightmare.
Urgh.....

There's only so much flex the car / roof has. I found out the hard way leaving a driveway after watching a dyno run night.... Cracked my front window..... passenger side, EXACTLY where the passenger latch clips to the window sill...

You could try something like this?

Plastic window protector

I had one of those (and probably still do somewhere) but never use it.

I'm not sure why but my window doesn't crease and I don't ever get out of the car to put the roof down. Then again, it's hardly ever up.

I made one of those out of foam furniture packing foam thing and masking tape. I never use it cause it takes as much time as it does to stand outside the car and place my hand on the window to help it fold.

Cracking the front window, thats pretty crazy

thats my point of concern for the replica HT's . As its made from B grade materials, it might be an issue .

Hate to argue, but are you saying if your chassis flexes, you'd like the roof to flex too so the windscreen doesn't crack?

No problems at least with my driveway, and as I said the "shims" do the trick of any added flex. btw my driveway is a "bitch", main reason why I won't lower the car.
