Default OEM CD Changer not working. HELP!

Posted this in the audio section aswell but thought may aswell post here aswell.

Hi all,

I just picked up a brand new MY07. However the cd changer does not work. It has power and I can hear the changer cycle through the cd's but when I press "DISC" or the "MODE" button it won't pick up the CD mode. Only Radio and Tape work.

Please help!!!! Thanks.

Have you tried ejecting the cartridge. Might be stuck.

For the head unit not to go into disc mode it means it doesn't know one is attached. Maybe the connector at the back of the head unit is loose.

Either way, you just bought it. Take it back to the dealer.

Yea, I already booked in for Monday to get it fixed but it is kinda a hassle for me to drop the car off cause it's kinda far from work.

So is it hard to reach into the back of the headunit Aus? Can I do it without dis-assembling anything?

Cheers mate.

It is not stuck, I can take out the cateridge ok and put in a cd and then eject again. Just cannot select the cd mode on the H/U.

I can't listen to any tunes while driving, kinda spoilt my special day a bit

It's a bit of work.

My suggestion is enjoy the sound of the engine until Monday.

Believe it or not the stereo is not his cars best feature.

Exactly what I did. I found this old tape thing that has an audio jack so you can plug an external music player to (I used it back in my old civic days ). So I can listen to my iTouch.

Sweet!!! .

I think I am just gonna change the H/U regardless of getting this issue fixed. Seriously a 07 model car with a tape deck

Yea, but when you press the mode or disc button's does it switch to cd mode? Mine doesn't even recognise there is a stacker installed i think.

yes it should.

You only need to press the disc button.

I recall having issues with mine ( vaguely) it didn't seem so easy to use first off.

Try sort of short turns of the mode button and see what happens.
