shit, i think i have the wrong profile tyres on my car...
I have 225/50/16 on rear and
205/55/16 on front
is that right? shouldnt the higher profile be on the back?

The 225/50/16 go on the rear and the 205/55/16 go on the front
Just look at the placard inside the driver's door and/or your owner's manual and you'll see they're right.

Unless I'm mistaken the '50' and '55' are a ratio of height to width. So the height of the side wall of the back tyre is 50% of 225mm or about 112.5mm. The height of the front is 55% of 205mm or about 112.75mm. So the rolling circumferences are approximately the same.
My rears are 255/35/18. So the side wall is 35% of 255 or 89.25mm. But then I have an extra inch of wheel radius so that's another 25.4mm. Total of 114.65. Near enough to the same.
