Blackie, a few of us will be at Sandown this Saturday. If you've got spare time you could drop in . We shouldn't be hard to find.
There's another thread with all the details.

73k is a good price, i thought they were $72995, then add all the crap on top and it comes out closer to 80k with all the duties and stuff, spill the beans, theres something ur not telling
Due to popularity in early days it was hard to get dealeers to drop the price, but now most dealers will happily sell you an S2000 for $73k on road.
S2000 sales have slumped quite badly over the past year.
PS You should try to get them to through in a body kit + mats at a heavily discounted price. If I remember correctly body kits RRP are around $2700 although they would cost sweet FA to manufacture.
Not sure on the blue/tan I dont think that it would look right.

Hi Blackie, Welcome to the world of S2000. Yes, there is a local club and a few of the committee who could sign you up are on this board.

Welcome.
Between the 2, I'll go white/red with OEM bodykit around $2100 fully installed.
The Red or Tan interior doesnt go well with dirt (carpet I mean).
Mind telling which Dealer you have been dealing with?
Cheers
Thomas

$72K incl on-the-road is a very good price.
Mine (2001 runout, bought in March 2002) was $75K incl on-the-road.
List was $75K excl on-the-road which would have been over $80K altogether.
Second-hand they drop in value pretty fast. 99s sell privately for low 50s and I doubt that anything except a virtually new car would return you much over $60K. Of course I hope to keep mine so long that the value will not matter.
My black and red interior is great but the new 100% red might be too much for some people. The blue with tan choice should be very attractive.

Thought like contributing another 2c.
Blackie - Are you financing under a novated lease scheme whereby you need to do a predetermined # of kilometres? If so, even 20K pa over 5 years will be potentially hard to sell as that will be a high kilometre sports car. I am under such a scheme but a 3year one where I need to do 25K pa. I bought an ex demo 2001 plate car (very cheap) with only 3000K on it, so when I come to sell it will have around 78K and technically be 4 years old, which is not bad, but because of my low residual (based on 40% and cheap purchase) will be profitable at the end. Something worth considering when you structure the residual payment. I thought a standard residual on a 5year lease was around 20-30%. Mine is a 3 year 40%.
Am sure you will enjoy the car though. I've only had mine for 3 months and coming from a raised Jeep Wrangler was concerned about space, comfort, cost etc etc, but all I can say is the smile it puts on my face every time I drive it is well worth it.
Cheers,
Stephen.
