Mobile Phones ---- (OT)
With the endless new supply of mobile phones i thought i would see what kinds of mobile phone buyers interest s2k buyers
Basically two possibilities
PHONE A ) Small, light, elegent phone with limited connection features. RETAIL = $300
PHONE B ) A little bit bigger (still pocketable) phone with the lot. Cameras, bluetooth, 65k color screen. RETAIL = $600
Which one would fellow s2kers choose?
I know it's personal perferences but i want to see what you would choose ....
me personally i would be leaning towards the $300 phone as i know in about 2 weeks i would get bored of all the toys in the $600 phone anyways and will end up using it like a normal phone..

i recently purchased a new mobile, it's small, light and a colour screen.
Nokia 6610
I wouldn't buy anything other than a nokia. Everyone I know has had a bad experience with other phones they've tried. They've always come back to Nokia in the end.
wil..

Funny you should bring up that topic - i've just been looking into it...
Try these sites for some reviews:

I've been looking a lot at the Samsung S200 (just needs another zero doesn't it?).
This phone has 2 color screens and all the features, but it's pricey.
If you want a cheapish color phone, go for the Nokia 6610. Is a nice small conservatively styled mobile and has all the main features.

Photography is my hobby - and that's why I dont call the thing on the phone a Camera.
I've got Nokia 6100 quite similar to 6610 but slightly smaller.
Frankly - personally, I only use the mobile for phone call, and the Organiser function, and the ability to use it while overseas (tri-band)
It really comes down to what you need to use from a mobile phone, ie received emails? go online? play games? Send pics, videos?
So I would probably pick your A = $300

I use a relatively cheap small monocolour screen phone - Sony Ericsson T600. However I tend to change phones every several months or so (in the industry). I used the new fangled colour screens, cameras, gadget type phones and found I got bored of them quite quickly. So a) would be my pick. Plus I can throw it around without worrying I would be damaging it too. Bluetooth is useful however.
I never liked the Nokias for some reason. Always preferred Motorola and (Sony) Ericsson. Nokia's colour screens are woeful in this day and age. Best phones if you're after the new style colour/camera/connectivity type phone are Samsungs, Panasonics and perhaps the new Sony Ericsson T610.

I just got a Nokia 8855 to replace my 8850.
The 8910i is just way too expensive, i prefer elegant titanium finish with good quality. Rather than the novelty colour/camera stuff.
