Default Lighting strikes twice; envolved in M5 accident today!

Lighting do strike twice. I was comming back from getting my car repair quote then went into the M5. I was the passenger in my friend's van then at 2:30pm there was a jam at the entrance of the airport . When we got in and merged to the lane I heard a sreech then look back I saw a semi trailer smashing into cars and runing them over. This created a huge domino effects and the truck slammed into our van a we slid across the wall. I got out and could not believe it. Cars upside down, crashed, ran over. People was crawling out of the window, a guy was stuck and people had to pull him out. The car was no wider than 70 cm (no joke). It was the Daewoo Lanos. Oh my God the incident was like the movie "Day Light". Cars was flying and fliping. Just unbelievable. Thank God no one was seriously hurt and no one died. I had an accident this tuesday and it was no way it was as bad as today.

Jeez mate, they say things come in 3's.... but I can't believe it 'could' happen with car accidents, at such a short interval?!

Glad you and every one else was basically unhurt, when it could have been far worse! May be you should stay off the road for a while and avoid the possible 3rd incident??

I saw the accident scene on the news last night. That was probably the worst pile up on the M5 thus far.

Yep, you could say that again. the accident looked like the special effects you see on the movie, no joke! The Daewoo that was crushed to 70 cm, the guy in it was traped and we had to help him get out. He was one of two to go to the hospital (broken leg). By the way I was able to take couple of snap shot of the whole incident and sold it to the Daily telegraph. I was laughing to see the picture on the news paper today. Its the two small pictures on the second page. I got only $50 for two of it due to it being a very low res pic. I took it with my phone...I knew it would come in handy one day. When the Daily Telegraph found out I had the pictures they kept on calling to chase up for it. Thanks for your concern.
