I just got my renewal in the mail today. Yikes, it's gone up a lot since last year. Now $1346.10

We've been through this a few times before.
One of the biggest factors is where you live.
Sydney is more expensive than other cities, such as Melbourne.
Cities are more expensive than rural areas.
Perry in Warnambool was paying less than $700.
For what it's worth this is what I pay:
Insurer: AAMI
Premium: $2169
Insured value: $66500
Model: 2001, delivered in Mar 2002
Age: 52
NCB: Maximum
Location: Pymble, Sydney.

However, I will call my broker and ask him to shop around a bit more. Allianz sounds promising.

I only pay $1700 listed in Camden for $58000 last time I checked but......
I'm not insured in my name b/c Im under 25 and have had an accident in the last 5years. Most insurers didnt even want to give my Dad a realistic quote including NRMA who he has two MBs insured with.
Excess if I crash = $2000 but based on my plan of not crashing it was far cheaper to take the premium which was over $3000 cheaper and have the risk of the higher premium.
