Which injector connector,
I'm looking at maybe getting some new injectors and don't know which connector is suitable, OBD1 PnP or OBD2 PnP? The shop (in the USA) tells me I want OBD2 plug n play connectors.
But the fact that the connectors are called OBD1 and OBD2 makes me think it's somehow related to the OBD2 port which an Aus 2001 doesn't have.
There is also the option of pigtails or crimp on kit. Do I maybe need to take one of these options instead?
I'm utterly confused.

The injectors on an 00-05 S2000 use what is referred to as OBDI connectors. It's just a style of two pin connector.
When I upgraded my injectors I cut the OBDIs off and soldered on the pigtails/connectors that came with the new injectors.
Chris Barry quite wisely made up some female OBDI to his new injectors pigtails so it's just plug and play for him.
So if the injectors you're upgrading to are OBDI then you don't need to change anything. If not you can either do what I did or what Chris did.

I actually put some Bosch injector plugs in parallel with the Honda ones so I could swap between my stroker/stock engine without changing the loom. The unused plugs are hidden away under the plastic injector cover so it doesnt look too wierd. My larger injectors were RCtech 650's.
I now have ID1000's for a E85 build, so will probably replace the Bosch connectors with the ID1000 specific plugs. I think three different plugs per injector will start to get crowded.

I too did the same as Chris, just split the wiring looms to accomodate the different injector clips. Makes 'going back to stock' that much easier..... Now if only I didn't leave my OEMs in the boat when it rained.......

Thanks for that guys.
So is the connector type on the loom at all related to the on board diagnostic type the car has, or is it random coincidence they are both called OBD?
