I guess cops don't need THAT much handling and control from their cars in road pursuits compared to track use. They definitely need good acceleration, speed and brakes.

I dont think they really want to outbrake, or out corner someone in a pursuit. All they need to do is to keep up with the target and wait for the driver to give up, or make a mistake of some sort.

I once saw an unmarked cop driving a Commodore with lowered suspension, some ricey mags and exhaust, pulling over a ITR... Now that's a very difficult one to pick....

May be he just pulled him over to ask where he got the full sick light up windscreen washer nozzles.

Those light up caps might be a good idea for push bikes though. You can never have too much visibility on a bike.

i believe they have automatics because then they can concentrate on the road more and radio ahead, etc when in pursuit rather than having to change gears and then also be on the radio and then do all their other policing work whilst chasing down the bad guys.
u might have noticed that the wrx cop cars that they got a while back were also autos.

Have u guys seen those blue/ purple fluorescent tubes? I saw a few recently. Someone with good taste installed them in a Commodore, under the front lip, side skirts and rear bumper. Basically all around the car

Looks like a bloody flying saucer.....

Coloured lights anywhere on the exterior of any car are just plain sad.

Don't know about other states but in QLD they are illegal and I see a crap load of teenie ricers getting done for them.
