HID headlights
I have read quite a lot of threads about the HID headlights on the S2000. Well, on Friday night, I hadd the pleasure, or rather the displeasure. The lights on the S2000 are really, really sharp.
I was wondering why the bugger behind me had his high beam on and it wasn't until he came alongside that I realised it was a S2000. Seeing he passed I decided to give him an experience of the S2000 headlights!
I've seen them in an approaching lane before and you simply cannot miss the HID headlights. Mind you, they are great when you are driving. They turn night into day.

Indeed....Oakley X Metals
The only shades for an S2000 owner!!
Actually, the X Metals in the Romeo model look a bit like the headlights on a S2000!

Yeah ... I was wondering on that one too. Anyway, the Oakey Titanium Iridium glasses or something ... RRP$450 - RRP$500 at Parramatta Westfields the other time I saw it looks extremely hot! But my eyes don't suit those sorta style, I'm more of the Jean Paul Gaultier man.

I like the Gaultiers but I haven't found a model that sits properly for me. Actually, the only one of the Oakley's that sit properly for me are the X Metals

I don't get all this headlight stuff.
If I'm behind a car (say at the lights), my headlight beam stops on or below the bumper of the car in front.
The beams are angled down, so on a flat surface you can see the top of the beam hitting the road ahead of you. There is no way your headlights can shine in somebody's eyes (unless they are crawling) OR you are on the crest of a hill / they're in a dip.
I've only been high-beamed once when I was going over a hill.
Have a look at BMW's implementation. They mount the HIDs behind another glass lens. The top of the beam is not flat, and has these blurred regions flaring up to the side. These things DO startle other drivers.

Funny you mentioned it as that was what I thought. last night, I had someone flash me because he/she thought my high beam was on. I soon showed them what high beam was!
