Yes, that's a "new car smell" - should go away by the time you get up to 1000-2000 Kms

yeah 9000 rpm is the ONLY way to go, anything under that is useless...if it doesn't rev that high dont buy it

hahaha.. well M3's dont rev that high and I wouldnt hesitate for a second in buying one.... if only I had the cash.

As for the smell. The old man bought a brand new Landrover and it smells pretty much just like you describe it every time he parks it back in the garage. It is just the "new car smell", I used to think that only ment the interior..

Nothing to worry about.
