HELP Is my clutch warn out
Hey Guys.
Just want to hear some of your opinions before I take my car to the workshop to get it check out.
I just realised on Monday the clutch friction point has gone lower than usual, and its feels spoungy when you step on it. Could it be the clutch been warn out??? I had a similar problem ages ago with a civic which wasnt the clutch but it was this spring thing that is attached to the clutch pedal which was broken.
My S is only driven during the weekends and its done 69,000km.
Thanks
Perry

It actually sounds like you need to bleed your clutch lines.
That or your clutch master cylinder is gone.
Checked the fluid recently?

A worn clutch should have a friction point that's higher, and what you'll tend to hear and feel is the engine revs rising quickly but the car not actually getting any faster.

Werd. Next time you take off from the lights do it slowly and put it in 5th instead of 3rd then let the clutch out slow and once out floor the accel if the revs go up your clutch plate is toast.
It does sound like fluid/cyl probs though.

Even though your S has low milage, clutch wear is mainly based on how you drive the car.
Is the clutch slipping on inclines?

This,
doesn't describe a worn clutch to me.

hey Pezza , before you go and fork out $1500-1800 for a new clutch , its worth your while to investigate .
Do you know how to check for a leaking clutch master cyclinder? If you are getting alot of "free play" from your clutch , what you need to do is pump your clutch pedal hard 20-30+ times to get any air bubbles that are sitting in your lines.
You will then need to replace the clutch master cyclinder seals . Costs about $120-150 .

i agree with what Aus and the others have said. Could just be that you may need to bleed the clutch.
OR
your clutch cynlider is on its way out and leaking fluid....happened to me a couple of times with my other hondas!
