Default Helmet (for track)

Yup I have another of those USA/OZ compatibility questions.
It seems that the more I go through my stuff the more I find
things I don't know if I will be able to use when I get back to OZ.

The question of the day is about Helmets for track.
I currently have a four month old Simpson helmet that is SA2000 certified.

Can I use this at the track in OZ or are the helmets over there required
to have some other certification ... like.... ADRxxxyyyzzz?

Cashout - SA2000 is approved by the Confederation of Australian Motorsport under it's Schedule D.

Just be aware that some scrutineers start and finish their helmet check looking for the more common (in OZ, anyway) AS1698 (Australian Standard) sticker. Not usually a problem, but you will undoubtedly at some stage strike the one that will need to see the CAMS manual before he passes it.

Thanks billyblue. Thats is good news. The helmet is the cheapest SA2000 you can buy here but is is still $240US.

I forgot: The helmet is open face. I don't think that woudl be a problem, would it?

You'll be fine with an open face helmet - mine is fulll face (pauses for the jokes) - Open wheelers (i.e. no windscreen) require googles or visor.

Thanks billyblue. The helmet goes into the 'keep' basket.
