I've never heard anything about the airbox being "tuned" internally but I have heard that it is designed to not sound too obnoxious to appeal to the masses and appease the compliance regulators.

either way, its safe to say that Honda invested $$$ into designing the S2000 for optimum performance from the factory , hence anything done to the stock design is perhaps a step back in progress

Well its been like pissing down with rain for the last few days and have been driving quite alot in those conditions. NO WATER in the box~!

Unless you want to like go have a swim in the lake with your S2K i doubt much water getting in.

Also there are little holes on the bottom of the box, thats to let the water out if it does come in and you can see those holes in the pictures above.

Well i actually feel the revs are coming up faster and smoother. Car feels less boggy and is spirited in terms of response. The part that I blocked can be easily taken off for those that are cautious about losing the helmotz effect or the 'weiner' effect (they call the helmotz resonator in our mid section of our exhaust the weiner apparently)

Anyway if spoon says it helps improve flow by removing some of the wall, which i think it does... its pretty worthwhile.

Ofcourse you wont get too much or any gains but the noticeable feel in better response and 'slight' intake noise is worth it

yes it does , i did "any" sort of mod to the air box set up .

I read somthing similar, the wall was there to create a vortex (or somthing like that) to maxamise air intake, then again it hasnt exactly been posted extensivly. Also this little "Mod" has been around for years and as most said, the drivers have had no issues.

the airbox design on our cars is not much different to many modern cars on the market.
Im pretty sure that these dividers and attached air chambers associated with the air intake system are there for
a) to prevent water intake
and b) Resonance chambers (meaning they are there to reduce intake noise and meet pollution and noise regulations etc

ive had mine cut out for a few months now, no complaints, no water

even if a bit of water from driving in the rain were to somehow make its way to the intake, it would have to be enough water to saturate the majority of the filter before any problem occured
i would say its near impossible for water to reach the stock intake location

I think I,LL try the Mod when my warranty runs out in 3 months,Honda may not approve it if a problem occurs.Post all results please.
