Default goodbye after 4 1/2 years of S2000!!

Dear All,

Picked up my S2k on October 27, 1999. After 4 1/2 years of very enjoyable motoring, I said goodbye to her today (sigh).

Felt quite sad hearing and seeing it disappear into the distance as the new owner hit the 9k redline!

Whilst being quiet on this forum for a while (hectic work commitments), found the whole virtual community thing quite fun and will probably hang around (if you guys still want me san-s2k!)

That is why I am still hanging around here. I had to sell my S to move back to OZ and won't be able to get another one for a few years.

So far I have been welcomed to hang around with my Smart Roadster... so my guess is that you will still be welcomed.

Unless of course he makes the s2000 look bad. I'm not sure we have anything to fear from the smart

Not a lot of cars can make the S2000 look bad in a similar price bracket. I really struggled with what the replacement was. Several options were:
1. '96 993 4s
2. '01 E46 M3
3. 111s or 111r

Any other thoughts?
(not a fan of the WRX/EVO mould)

I see far too many WRX's, Lancers, and M3s on the road.
Whilst I don't see that many of that particular model Porsche on the road, the whole Porsche name for me has been cheapened a bit by the amount of Boxsters I see running around.

Everytimg I see an Elise/Exige on the road I always stare at it, as it is by no means a common sight. I also looked at an early model Elise when I was shopping for my S2000.

Exige?

Like yourself I can't think of many cars that top the S2000, for what i'm after in a car, the 111r and exige do very well.

Maybe an M roadster (whens the new model being released), or even a Boxster with a 996 engine in it (there are some floating around), or even a Boxster S if it floats your boat?

Quick Reply: goodbye after 4 1/2 years of S2000!!
