FUEL GAUGE READING
I was wondering if anyone is getting varied readings from their fuel gauge's ?
As with my car , it will be half a tank remaining . I turn the car off and start it back up the next morning and the gauge will show 1/4 , after abit of driving it will display 1/2 tank . and then drop back to 3bars or fuel or so. I notice when the tank is low , it flauchuates alot more .
Hope this makes sense ?
Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Is there any sort or cure for this problem ?

This is very common with all S2000s.
You'll find that the gauge might show just about empty but when you go to the service station you can only squeeze 40 litres in.

The reason is two fold. Firstly the fluid in the tank sloshes around so the reading is different if you're going up hill to if you are going down. If you accelerate or decelerate. If you go around a corner.
Secondly, so the gauge doesn't jump around like disco lights there is a delay between readings. Not sure of the interval but things like temperature are 10 seconds apart. So if you park your car and it take a reading whilst you're slowing (or whilst fuel is sloshing around the tank) it will be different when you come back to the car and the fuel has settled and had time to make another reading.
I guess the reason it varies more at low levels is due to the angle of the plumb bob being more obtuse and the fuel having more sloshing space. The solution is to keep your tank more full. It doesn't actually cost any more, it makes your fuel gauge less erratic and lessens the chance of running out.
