At this time I've decided not to bother with the extended warranty. In the past I have known of other people (not with S2000) taking out 'extended' waranties long after the original warranty had expired. Basically, it's just another insurance policy and a dealer is unlikely to turn away a cash premium on a car that's in good condition with low mileage.
