I'd still do the former just so I could get back on the road quick. Then I'd build the broken one.

4.44's are very light in contrast to 4.77's that are very aggressive. BUT in asying so, I suspect you should still see an improvement? I can't comment as I don't have these installed. JKO out of curiosity can you or red rover chirp third?
Sorry to take this a little off topic, but how much has your fuel consumption increased Robert?

none ... I think it's because before when pottign around town and such, I would constantly have to press the accelerator more than half way to get any half decent power out of the gear that I am in since the car lacks so much low down torque. Either that, or drop 2 gears to get moving. With this mod, I only tap the accelerator in almost any gear and the car moves like it's a v6 commodore. I lose that advantage on the highway's tho when I'm sitting at 4100rpm doing 110 tho. lol.

I had 2 rolling at 60kms an hour with similair outcomes.
and no, the other s2k wasn't stock it had exhaust, coilovers and an upgraded clutch.
the gears can make you slower if you take long to shift because you have an extra shift. maybe that's why Jko was at the same speed?

I would have to say that off the line I get even more advantage rather than rolling, but the advantage is definately still there.
This doesn't mean that yours is faster, just that at 60 you're in/closer to vtec than the stock car. Try rolling out from 80 where you'll either be in 3rd and below vtec or have to shift after the jump.

Capiche?

How often are you rolling at 80km/h on the street though? Thats like saying you have limited your top speed, who hits top speed anyway?

For very day punch the gears would be good, they dont make the car faster as such against other stock s2000s in differing situations.

If you race over 400meters, no matter what speed you wanna start from, I'm goign to start pulling away strongly

There is no stock s2000 that can beat me over 400 meters period.

Let's start at 200km/h - I'll totally wipe you.

not on an up hill

but beaver, good point, obviously the speed shouldn't be so high that I run out of gear/rpm, in which case I'm not willing to even try to prove on my 1 point license.
