Default Cruise Control Suppliers in Melbourne

I have a friend that is after a cruise control for his S2000.

Firstly, does any one have one that they can recommend for the S2000?

Secondly, can anyone recommend a supplier and installer in Melbourne (preferably eastern suburbs).

Thanks

I have a 'Command' C/C in my ITR and it has served me well for 91,000+ kms....I don't see why it would not be compatible with your S2K?!

Mine was installed as part of delivery through 'Robert Lane Honda', but I'm sure you could call them - 03 9563 999 (ask for Rudi, tell him that Mark from Canberra told you to talk to him) - and ask who they utilise; as I think they are in the eastern suburbs?

I have a Command system in my S2000. Works fine. If you bother Muz enough, he probably has a photo of it somewhere in his collection!

I know a few of the guys have a different system. Do a search on the topic

I have (and strongly recommend) the Rostra Cruise Control. Looks like the US OEM unit.

Here's the link.

You should contact Electric Life in NSW and get them to recommend an installer who will come to you.

AusS2000,

Thanks very much for that. My friend is actually driving up to Sydney after the HSCC (Vic) Winton day this Sunday, so maybe he would be better off just using your installer seeing as though he should know what he is doing...

If he can't organise it in Melbourne before Sunday, I guess he will give the bloke a call.

Cheers.

Cool. You got Zoran's number but here it is again (0417 700 079).

The speed sensor wire Col found is right near where they install the control unit and makes the install a snap.

Tell Zoran I referred you.

Even better!

Just tell him the speed sensor wire is the black and white striped wire in the green connector going into the roof control mechanism. It's under the dash pretty much behind the start button.

I have the unit from Autron. The control fits neatly in the bottom right hand section of the steering wheel - almost looks like and original item in the car. I will post a pic soon...

It is very stable and there is no noticible surge.

I had a couple of teething problems that were quickly rectified and it has been reliable for the past 2 years. It has probably paid for itself many times over in saved fines.

I recommend that you have it fitted at your dealer. I have a feeling your dealer will have more respect for you as a long term customer that the Autron workshop.

Thanks for all the responses guys. My friend Ben ended up getting one installed through Robert Lane Honda (where he bought his S2000). Not sure what brand, but from the photo of AusS2000's that I saw, it looks very similar (if not the same).

If I was to get one, I think I would go with that one too. It looks very 'OEM' (with no sign of any wires) and is mounted to the steering wheel.

In all honesty I can't see myself getting one though, as the furthest I usually drive is down to Sorrento (1.5 hours), where it can be a little difficult to stay at a constant speed (especially when trying to get down there over the summer months - when I most frequently go down there).

Thanks again.
