Default Cracked Windscreen

The day before yesterday travelling home along the M4 motorway, I had just overtaken a car, and there were no other cars in front for a very long distance.

Anyway...... end result is a star/bullseye? approx 20mm right in front of the driver.
From the info I have seen you cannot get that repaired due to the size and location.

From the first few calls I placed, it looks like it will cost about $950

For those of you who have insurance, you may want to see if your policy includes a replacement windscreen.

I got a crack in mine way back in 2000 and had to have it replaced. Was a $1400 job but insurance did it for the excess of $400 and no loss of no claims bonus.

Shortly after I found out some of the mobile mobs will replace it at your site for $350.

My insurance these days includes a glass replacement per year.

OBriens quote $968.
Windscreen alone from Honda is $806.60

I'm still looking around to find better prices.

I'll take it into OBrien to see if they can repair it, but I'm pretty sure due to size and placement I have to get it replaced.

http://www.obrienglass.com.au/servic...epairguide.asp

If mine was repairable they quoted me about $90, but mine fails the criteria set out in the above link.

How did it work out? My screen got cracked yesterday (thanks Vuey!).

I don't mind Shannons paying $1400 but I'm also fine with $250 if it's as good.

Just like new - even has the little clear bit to see the VIN.

Put it this way - nobody on the cruise noticed it was any different. If you are really fussy you can always drive out to see it. Or meet me during lunch at work or something.
