Chasers quoted 450-500 as well, chasers are in western melb, jetspeed are in clayton.

A place in box hill quoted around 450 as well and seemed kind of nice and pretty close to me but. I'll see if i can find their number if you want.

What clutch/flywheel combo are you settling on?

This could be a case of confusion with the Exedy Hyper Single. Many users have reported that it lasted less than 5000Km. Infact the one I bought was used by a guy who got 2500km out of it before wearing it out.

I bought it, had it rebuilt and have been using it for about 10,000km so far. I don't do a lot of stop/start traffic driving however. And it's possible the pads used for the rebuild are not the same material in the original.
Ahh ok fair enough, makes sense. Yeah, hopefully it lasts as long as the OEM clutch and i'd be happy but i will be doing quite a bit of stop/start which is why i didn't want to go for a stage 2 clutch but then again, i'm basing all of this from just what i've read and nothing from experience.

Oh well, at least i'll have experience with the Exedy Heavy Duty one soon!

You can get an Exedy direct from Japan through a buying agent like Jesse Streeter and save heaps.

A Hyper Carbon D single would set you back about $1500 inc shipping. Nengun is $1800 + ship.

I might just go oem and f1 flywheel or stock flywheel. I would normal get my mechanic to do my work but he hasn't done a clutch on an s2k before. I might give chasers a call as I'm in the west, guys had any exprience with chasers?

Happy with the job??

Which kit did you go for? how bout the flywheel?
I went for the Exedy HD kit. Had the flywheel machined.

I can say that the guys there are very helpful and seem to know what they're doing. Ive had the clutch in for about 5k now and its all gravy...
